MACDONALD (DON) CURRAN
Macular Disease Society U.K. is represented on the AMD Alliance International Board of Directors by Mr. Macdonald (Don) Curran. Mr. Curran is Chairman of the AMD Alliance International.
Don Curran is Vice-Chair and Trustee of a national charity in the UK for Macular Disease.
After many years in the airline business, Don Curran is today a partner in Insigniam, a boutique consulting firm that deals with senior executives and provides a portfolio of products. Don took medical retirement from United Airlines in 2000 due to the onset of wet macular degeneration. At that time he was Vice President based in Hong Kong accountable for United's Pacific Operation.
Mr. Curran was a member of the American Chamber in Hong Kong and has also chaired and served on many travel and airline committees including PATA, HATA, TICA and BOAR.
Don now lives in the UK with his wife Ruby and enjoys his family, including five grandchildren and despite being registered blind still enjoys his garden and golf, being a member of the Scottish Blind golf society.
